Here’s a question – what do you do if you have too much time on your hands and also happen to be a renowned sushi master?
The answer…well, in the case of one Italian sushi powerhouse by the name of Yujia Hu, it’s a bit of a no-brainer. Given the fact that he himself is a massive basketball fan, he decided that the time had come to bring his two passions together in the most creative and enjoyable way possible.
That’s right – Yujia Hu turned his hand to creating surprisingly accurate replicas of various basketball shoes, using nothing but his everyday sushi ingredients.
As for the results, you can see for yourself in the couple of examples we’ve included here, which represent just a small sample of the kinds of NBA-inspired delicacies this interesting chap is coming up with right now. They definitely look the part, but as for whether or not they look particularly appealing food-wise…well, that’s more a matter of opinion than anything else!
Personally, we prefer to keep our sports footwear and raw fish separate…but that’s just us!
